Bereft of Significance
I’m struggling with a lack of creativity but figure I’ll write something.
Long novels can be the best. If done well, there is no match in the world of entertainment for me. This past month I tried to read Quicksilver and Against the Day, both long adventurous books. Exactly what I thought I wanted. It ended up being a burden to sit down with either in my lap. I got through less than a hundred pages in each. I went back to the library to get some lighter reading and found Personal Days by Ed Park. It’s reminds of work, it’s not that funny, and yet I can’t seem to put it down. I think it may be due to its bite size portions. The plot is revealed in disconnected paragraph to page length sections. Plus, there is heavy usage of bold and italics.
I am not positive what that means but I think the internet has given me brain damage. Thanks. Thanks a lot.
