Exhaustion

And not the “I’ve been staying up till 4am watching 9/11 conspiracy videos” exhausted. Rode said bike to the soccer game where we played two men down. They had numerous subs (and were a bunch of assholes as well). We played fairly even in the first half but in the second half they pulled out the stops. It degraded into the standard 7 defense, 2 mid formation. Our goalie would just bomb the ball on goal kicks and we’d take turns trying to beat their defense. On one of these attempts our dude got tripped in the box. PK. Goalie stops it cold. Groan. *Tweeet*. Their D had jumped the gun across the 18. Another chance. GOOOOOOAL!

We locked it down for the last 15 minutes and walked off in disbelief of our win. I somehow had enough energy to bike across the hills home. But I’m cashed. I don’t think I’m gonna wake up tomorrow.

There is something absolutely stunning about giving everything you’ve got, fighting against the odds, and winning. Cliché, I know, but beautiful nonetheless.
