The Internet Helps Me Be A Snob
When I was a kid, I picked a book based on what section it was in, what its cover looked like, and how interesting its title was. Now, I pick a book after reading metacritic, nytimes, and amazon reviews, summaries, and ratings. I might even read some of the wikipedia page on its author.
When I was a kid, I’d read without judgement. Now, books have to be good enough to be worthy of my time.
